School Council would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported their Blue Cake Sale today! They were very excited to see so much for support for this event that they had organised as part of a whole week of anti-bullying activities.

Congratulations to those Y6 children that have achieved their Young Sports Leaders Award. A big thank you to Matt Coldrey from the Cheltenham Sports Network, who kindly attended our whole school celebration assembly, to present them with their certificate, badge and fluffy pen!
We are all looking forward to seeing them lead our school sports events in a positive, respectable and confident way this year. A huge congratulations to Jessica Evans, who has been elected as our Young Sports Leader Co-ordinator. We are all more than confident that she will represent her team of leaders fantastically! Well done to you all. School Council have been busy today selling wristbands to pupils who are keen to show support for Anti-Bullying Week.
The bands will be on sale all week (or until they are sold out!) It has been wonderful to see our Year 2 children so enthusiastic this morning as they take part in their Dress Up Day.
They are really excited to share their clues about which famous person from history they have dressed up as and to see if their classmates can guess... Keep an eye on their class blog. A group of our Year 4 children are at the Prince of Wales Stadium in Cheltenham today. They are competing in a tag rugby festival with a number of other schools. What a great opportunity for them to put some of the skills they have been learning this term into practice.
Tirlebrook's annual anti-bullying week began with a whole school assembly today.
The School Council also launched their 'Design an anti-bullying t-shirt' Competition. There are already some fantastic designs on display in school. Throughout the week there will be activities and events happening across school, as School Council work hard to promote an anti-bullying message and raise awareness of how to tackle bullying. We began the day with some live music at Tirlebrook as we welcomed Mike, Rachel and Guy into school. They played the autoharp, lap dulcimer and jaw harp in a whole school concert and the children all joined in with some of the songs. Throughout the day all the children will be involved in autoharp workshops developing their listening and music skills.
School Council met today and organised the timetable of events for their Tirlebrook Anti-bullying Week.
Keep an eye out for how you can get involved! On Friday afternoon, it was lovely to be able to take a choir of children down to visits our friends at Barton Court. They shared many of the harvest gifts donated for our Harvest Assembly and sang songs celebrating harvest time.
On a beautiful autumn morning it was lovely to welcome so many of our school community to our harvest assembly.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for our celebration this morning as we gave thanks for our world. Thank you as well for all your wonderful donations. We will be sharing them with our local community. |
