We waved Y6 off on their residential trip to the Isle of Wight this morning. Keep an eye on their blog to see what adventures they are having!

Health & Wellbeing Week 2017 was one of the very best yet. Take a look at newsletter NUMBER THIRTY THREE where we reflect back on what was just an amazing week for the Tirlebrook school community.
Today saw the launch of Tirlebrook's annual 'Health & Wellbeing' Week. We have a whole range of activities and experiences planned to encourage everyone at Tirlebrook to develop their bodily, spiritual and mental fitness. From competitive sports to quiet and reflective time in Soul Space, the children will all have time to get involved and to consider how to keep healthy. Welcome back!
We finished last term with Green Week at Tirlebrook, celebrating our school’s core value of Environment. This year’s Nature Quiz was very competitive as previous champions, Montague House, sought to retain the trophy. After some hard fought rounds, covering a wide range of knowledge about nature (thank you Mr. Lockley!), Montague relinquished their title and the trophy was awarded to our new Nature Quiz champions - Hastings House. There were also many outdoor learning opportunities throughout the week and a competition to design planting schemes for the house wheelbarrows. Many thanks to our house captains and head judge Mrs Jan Ellery for judging the wheelbarrow designs and choosing the winners. We are hoping to get them planted up as soon as possible. Hope you all enjoy the half term break - back to school on Monday 5th June for more exciting learning opportunities!
In celebration of our school’s core value of Environment, the week - Monday 22nd to Friday 26th May - is Green Week at Tirlebrook. From enjoying outdoor learning opportunities, to actively exploring eco-friendly travel, to designing and planting our allotment and house wheelbarrows, we will be going green this week. Our houses will also be competing to win the House Nature Quiz Trophy as well as celebrating our core value of Community by taking part in litter picking activities. Our Eco Council continue to encourage the recycling of waste fruit and vegetables and are composting this to feed the soil in our allotment beds whilst also keeping on top of the weeds!
Groundworks - Tuesday 16th May
All the children are now using the newly laid path that circuits the school field during our Tirlebrook Ten sessions each day. As you know this is just one way in which we are encouraging the children at our school to lead healthy lifestyles. The newly installed crawl-through tunnel in Woodland Workshop has also been greeted with enthusiasm and lots of the children are already making use of it. |
