Today our Year 2 class had a visit from Sophie at The Cheltenham Art Gallery and Museum; The Wilson. She brought in lots of artefacts to help introduce the class to their new topic; 'Epic Explorers'. It was a great opportunity to learn about Edward Wilson's courageous expedition to the South Pole from which he was never to return. As a result he is known as a local hero. They found out about what life was like when Wilson was growing up including the clothes he wore and the toys he played with.
The classes have been busy exploring today with a visit from Google Expeditions. What an exciting way to begin the new term.
On Monday our Y3 class visited Holy Trinity Church in Tewkesbury. There were 5 stations set up inside the church with practical activities for the children to explore the Easter story. They finished at a final sixth station to hear about the story of the resurrection. It was a lovely opportunity to get out into our local community and learn more about the story of Easter.
